Neverland is beckoning the stars of this year’s White Rock Theatre panto – Peter Pan. It opens next Wednesday and the cast have been hard at work rehearsing at the venue this week. Former S Club 7 singer Jon Lee fills the title role and as well as learning his lines he’s got to learn how to fly. Olivia Chenery, who plays mischievous fairy Tinker Bell, is polishing up her roller skating skills. Comic Steve Furst is putting the finishing touches to Pirate Smee’s jokes while Neil Brennan as Captain Hook is getting used to wielding his fearsome hook. Ticket sales have been soaring for the panto, which promises to be the biggest and best ever staged at the White Rock. This is an exciting new five-star musical version of J M Barrie’s magical story about the boy who didn’t want to grow up and ran away to have adventures in Neverland. Children will be amazed at the spectacular revolving set and meet all sorts of colourful characters, from the cheeky Lost Boys to the dancing pirates, tribe of Indian braves and the hungry crocodile who snacked on Hook’s hand and wants to finish the rest of him! Peter Pan runs from December 10 to January 4 with lots of celebrities expected to attend the official gala opening night on Friday December 12. Box office: 01424 462 288. |
